About the Purple Pirate

Born and raised on the West Coast, Dustin Anderson, a.k.a the Purple Pirate has been involved in action and exploration ever since he could say the word “pirate.” Starting Purple Pirate Entertainment in 1999, Dustin combined his love of children with his passion for pedaling, exploration, action and fun.

After noticing a trend of overweight children, Dustin developed his FUN-damentals of Fitness show. Dustin chose to combine his passion for fitness and children. As a serious athlete what distinguishes Dustin from other athletes is his ability to redefine sport and fitness as fun and playful. Dustin has the ability to relate to children, speak their language, and influence and inspire their behavior.

Canada’s only pedal-powered entertainer, Dustin cycles to all his performances and is a respected leader within the Vancouver cycling community.

In 2003, in a people’s choice contest, he won Children’s Entertainer of the Year. His growing popularity is helping him to achieve his goal to inspire Canadian children to discover the fun of fitness and sport.
